Privacy Policy - Recallo
Last Updated: June 15, 2026
Recallo ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Recallo mobile application (the "App") and the related AI Call Intelligence dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of the personal data you trust us with.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our App, particularly regarding sensitive Android permissions.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Recallo acts as an AI-powered call assistant to help you log call summaries, manage tasks, and sync follow-up schedules. To perform these functions, the App requests access to specific capabilities on your device:
A. Microphone Access (Audio Recording)
- What we collect: User-recorded audio memos captured via the post-call popup overlay.
- Why we collect it: The microphone permission is used strictly when you choose to record a post-call summary. This audio file is sent to secure cloud servers for AI transcription and extraction of commitments, action items, and follow-ups.
- Data Handling: Audio recordings are uploaded securely, encrypted in transit and at rest. We never record phone conversations automatically or silently in the background.
B. Call Detection & Logs (Read Phone State & Call Logs)
- What we collect: Phone number, call direction (incoming/outgoing), timestamp, and duration of calls.
- Why we collect it: To detect when a call starts or ends so we can display the interactive post-call notes overlay and match your text notes/voice memos to the correct call history item in your CRM dashboard.
C. Contacts Directory (Read Contacts)
- What we access: Local contact entries.
- Why we access it: To resolve phone numbers to contact names. This lookup is performed locally on your device; we do not upload your entire contacts directory to our servers.
D. System Alert Window (Draw Over Other Apps)
- Why we use it: To present the post-call summary popup immediately after a call ends, allowing you to quickly log notes or speak a memo while the details are fresh.
E. Calendar Integration
- Why we use it: To allow you to sync AI-extracted follow-ups, meetings, and calendar events directly with your device and Google Calendar, including setting alarms and reminders.
2. Data Storage and Retention
- Server Location: Your call log metadata, transcripts, and voice memos are stored securely on cloud servers hosted in India (AWS Mumbai).
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols and encrypted at rest.
- Retention: We retain your call logs and memos only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App services. You can delete individual logs or request full account data deletion at any time.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We hold your trust in high regard.
- No Selling of Data: We do not sell, trade, or lease your voice recordings, transcripts, contacts, or call logs to third parties.
- Service Providers: We utilize secure cloud infrastructure (AWS) and AI models (such as Anthropic/Claude) solely to process, transcribe, and summarize your manually logged call details. These processors are contractually bound to protect your data and are not authorized to use it for any other purpose.
4. User Consent and Control
- Permission Revocation: You can grant or revoke any permission (Microphone, Contacts, Phone State, Calendar, Overlay) at any time through your Android System Settings. Revoking permissions may limit your ability to use certain features.
- Data Deletion: You can delete individual call logs, notes, or memos directly from the App dashboard. Deleted logs are permanently removed from our active servers.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
